Ages: 16+
Description:
Participants will learn the art of “throwing” on the wheel, starting with a basic cylinder & bowl. These cylinders and bowls can then be altered into many different shapes and functions. You will learn to trim your pieces, decorate and finish your work with beautiful glazes.
Students will also receive a brief introduction to handbuilding when adding handles and altering basic, thrown shapes.
Examples of altered forms: citrus juicer, appetizer tray, chip & dip platter, vase, berry bowl, butter dish, and so much more!
No experience necessary, all levels welcome.
By the end of 6 weeks you will have a minimum of 8-10 pieces to take home.
Your pieces will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of your last class date.

$350+tax

Description:
In this 6-week handbuidling class participants will explore clay using rolled out slabs and templates. Students will be provided new projects each week, along with live demonstrations and one to one support to complete the following project examples: leaf bowls/platters, mugs, vases, appetizer sets, and more!
We also offer a large supply of textures, stamps, slips & underglazes (“paints”), and carving tools to make your pieces truly one of a kind.

8-week Level Up Wheel Class (7 person limit)
$450+tax
Afternoons Beginning: Thursday, January 15 from 12:30-3:30pm

Description:
Have you taken 2 beginner wheel classes (or more!), and want to take your throwing to the next level? This is the perfect class for you! This 8-week course will be tailored to each participants’ pottery goals, building on what they’ve previously learned. Students will be encouraged to take their next steps in creating beautiful pots by:
– learning to get more out of each ball of clay,
– throwing with larger amounts of clay,
– experimenting with new pottery forms
– learning to make sets and/or multiples
– and so much more!
Participants will also spend time trimming, attaching handles, decorating and glazing, making their work food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. A total of 8-10 pieces will be created in this class.
Minimum Requirements: Have taken 2 beginner classes & feel comfortable centring clay.
Minimum Age: 16
Pieces will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of the last class.

Open Studio Mondays (7 person limit)
$30 +tax
For previous Zenfire students.*
Monday evenings, 6-9pm
This is your time. A time to focus on improvements, practice at the wheel and be part of our clay community. You are all a wealth of tips and tricks, this is a great opportunity to feed off each other’s knowledge and encouragement.
No instruction will be provided. There will be a studio lead to help with any questions about the studio logistics (e.g., which clay to use, when to start cleaning up etc.)
The space you book includes both wheel and table time. Table time would include any decorating time, glazing, handbuilding, etc.
Your weekly fee will include a limited number of pots fired per month, with the option to pay for additional materials and firing.
After your first time signing up, you will receive a welcome email with more details on studio guidelines and open studio expectations.
*Please note: we require each new registrant to complete 2, 6-week classes at Zenfire Pottery.
