Description:
In this 6-week handbuilding class participants will explore clay using rolled out slabs and templates. Students will be provided new projects each week, along with live demonstrations and one to one support to complete the following project examples: leaf bowls/platters, mugs, vases, appetizer sets, and more!
We also offer a large supply of textures, stamps, slips & underglazes (“paints”), and carving tools to make your pieces truly one of a kind.
Beginner friendly! All skill levels are welcome.

6-week Beginner Wheel Class
$365+tax

Age: 16+
Description:
Participants will learn the art of “throwing” on the wheel, starting with a basic cylinder & bowl. These cylinders and bowls can then be altered into many different shapes and functions. You will learn to trim your pieces, decorate and finish your work with beautiful glazes.
Students will also receive a brief introduction to handbuilding when adding handles and altering basic, thrown shapes. Examples of altered forms: citrus juicer, appetizer tray, chip & dip platter, vase, berry bowl, butter dish, and so much more!
No experience necessary, all levels welcome.
By the end of 6 weeks you will have a minimum of 8-10 pieces to take home.
Your pieces will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of your last class date.

4-day Level Up Wheel Experience
$750+tax
Start Date: Tuesday August 11 – Friday, August 14
Time: 10am – 4:30pm (each day)
Cost: $750+tax includes all materials, tools, firings, glazes, etc.
Instructor: Angela Patterson
Workshop Description: Over 4 days Zenfire Pottery owner, Angela Patterson, will level up your throwing game! Angela will provide live demos, give one to one support and advice, and help each participant meet their unique pottery goals.
Participants will play with clay and practice the following: throwing bigger, getting more out of your clay, creating multiples, mastering trimming to create lighter and more balanced pieces, and so much more. There will also be a surprise guest artist! Creators will come back at a later date to glaze, or Angela can do it for you. Shipping of finished pieces is available for those who live out of town.

Open Studio Mondays (7 person limit)
$30 +tax
For previous Zenfire students.*
Monday evenings, 6-9pm
This is your time. A time to focus on improvements, practice at the wheel and be part of our clay community. You are all a wealth of tips and tricks, this is a great opportunity to feed off each other’s knowledge and encouragement.
No instruction will be provided. There will be a studio lead to help with any questions about the studio logistics (e.g., which clay to use, when to start cleaning up etc.)
The space you book includes both wheel and table time. Table time would include any decorating time, glazing, handbuilding, etc.
Your weekly fee will include a limited number of pots fired per month, with the option to pay for additional materials and firing.
After your first time signing up, you will receive a welcome email with more details on studio guidelines and open studio expectations.
