Try your hand at the potter’s wheel in this one- time workshop!

A great opportunity to see if this is your next hobby! or simply cross off your bucket list!

You will be guided through making 2 cups or bowls. You will get the full experience of centering the clay, building the foundation of your pot to then stretch the sides and see how high you can get it!

The workshop is approximately 2 hours. Your pots will be finished and fired for you, in the colour of your choice. Ready to be picked up within 4-6 weeks.

They will be food safe, dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

2-hour Handbuilt Ceramic Bird Feeder Workshop

Spring is just around the corner! Add a one of a kind bird feeder to your backyard or patio and enjoy the beautiful birds that come to feast! 

This workshop is approximately 2 hours in length. Using slabs of clay, templates, textures and colours participants will build their own bird feeder. 

This is a beginner friendly workshop, with no previous experience needed. You will be guided through each step of the making process. So just bring yourself (or a buddy!) and enjoy the creative process.

Your piece will be fired for you, in the colour of your choice. It will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date.

Please note: The glaze shown in the workshop image is no longer available in the studio. Participants will have many other beautiful colours to choose from.

Private bookings for 2-hour workshops 

$75+ tax / person

Grab a group of friends, family and/or colleagues and create something beautiful. This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate with your group, or cross something off your bucket lists!
Workshop details: 
  • minimum 6 people
  • maximum 14 (special arrangements may be made for over 12 people, just ask!)
  • 2-hours includes instruction and all materials
  • 2 types of workshops include:
1) Potter’s wheel: have your “Ghost” moment, see if this is your next hobby, or simply cross it off your bucket list! Participants will create 2 bowls or cups.
2) Handbuilding: Build an object with slabs of clay, texture and coloured slips. Project examples include: mugs, beer steins, small platters, small serving bowls, citrus juicer, Christmas trees, holiday ornaments, etc.
  • All pieces will be finished and fired for you, in the colour of your choice
  • Pieces will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date

Pottery and a Pint

$75+ tax / person

Date: Thursday, February 29
Time: 6:30 – 8:30pm 

What could be better than creating your very own, customized pint glass while enjoying an ice cold Broken Rail Brewing pint? We can’t think of a thing! 

Back by popular demand, this workshop is perfect for beginners and those with clay experience. With a maximum of 8 people there will be lots of time for questions and assistance as we sip and play with clay. We can’t wait to enjoy a pint with you and see what you create!

Workshop Details:

– Approximately 2 hours, including instruction

– Cost includes 1 pint of your choosing

– No experience needed

– All materials, templates and tools will be provided

– Firings are included

– Attendees will choose glaze colour for instructor to complete

Please note this workshop does not use the pottery wheel.

We will carefully care for your creations through the kiln firings. They will be glazed and ready to be picked up at Zenfire Pottery approx. 4-6 weeks after the workshop date.

2-day Sculpture Workshop

$250 +tax 

Date: Saturday, March 2 & Sunday, March 3

Time: 11am – 4pm (each day)

Instructor: Dauma Stirbyte

Minimum age: 16

Workshop Description: 

In this two-day workshop, Dauma will share various hand-building techniques she use to make her creatures. She will demo her process of building a Beetle and talk about using sketches to aid the process. You will learn how to use kemper wire, how to decorate surfaces using slip and various other tools, as well as how to achieve crisp clean lines and a visually balanced piece. The skills you’ll learn can be later applied to both sculptural and functional work. Each participant will have the freedom to explore their creative vision

About Dauma: 
Dauma is a London (ON) based ceramic artist, represented by galleries across Canada. Born and raised in Lithuania, she moved to Ireland in 2007, graduating from the National College of Art and Design in 2016 with a BDes (Hons). She was an international artist in residence at the London Clay Art Centre (ON) from 2017 to 2020. In 2018 Dauma was named Best in Show at Fusion’s Emerging Artist exhibition and in 2022 she was selected as a finalist for the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics. Her work features personal narratives, themes of nature, and idioms.

Kids March Break Camp

$130 +tax 

Dates: Tuesday, March 12 or Wednesday, March 13 or Thursday, March 14

Time: 9:30am-3:30pm

Instructor: Mary Cameron

Minimum age: 8+

Calling all the creative kiddos!

Our amazing teacher Mary is back for our March Break Kids Camp. Each day will be packed with new creative projects using the potter’s wheel, clay slabs, coils, pinch pots, textures, paints and more!

Your child will stay with us over the lunch hour. We will eat lunch at the studio, then we’ll play games before starting to create again. Please bring your own lunch.

No experience necessary.

Please bring a small towel or apron.  Short nails are very helpful. Most of all be prepared to have fun and get messy!

The kid’s clay art made during the workshops will be glazed and fired in our kilns. They will be ready for pick up within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date.

2-day Intermediate Teapot Workshop

$275 +tax 

Date: Saturday, April 20 & Sunday April 21

Time: 10am-4:30pm

Instructor: Brendan Wilson

Minimum age: 16

You asked for it! We are bringing the talented Brendan Wilson back into the studio for a 2-day teapot workshop. Throughout these 2 days participants will explore teapot engineering and function. Join us!

Details of the workshop include: 

– Throwing various teapot pieces

– How to trim and assemble 

– Pulling and attaching handles

– Discussion on ergonomics and the perfect spout and handle

Please note: This is an intermediate workshop, and previous throwing experience is needed. Firing is available at an additional cost.
