One Time Potters Wheel Workshops

Try your hand at the potter’s wheel in this one- time workshop!

A great opportunity to see if this is your next hobby! or simply cross off your bucket list!

You will be guided through making 2 cups or bowls. You will get the full experience of centering the clay, building the foundation of your pot to then stretch the sides and see how high you can get it!

The workshop is approximately 2 hours. Your pots will be finished and fired for you, in the colour of your choice. Ready to be picked up within 4-6 weeks.

They will be food safe, dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

March Break: Youth Clay Days

$120 +tax (8 person limit)

Instructor: Mary Cameron
Join us for a full day of creativity with Clay. Our amazing instructor will guide each participant through various clay projects using the potter’s wheel, handbuilding with slabs of clay and sculpting clay into anything that their imagination allows.
There will be plenty of inspiration, guidance and one-on-one time with the instructor throughout the day. We also encourage our participants to come with ideas. If they have a wish to create something we will do our best to make their dreams come true!
Please note there will be a supervised lunch break. We ask that each participant is sent with a lunch, water bottle and snacks to keep their energy up throughout their creative day. We are going to have so much fun!
Finished work will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date.

Charcuterie Board Workshop with Stonetown Cheese

$90 +tax (8 person limit)

Entertaining season is just around the corner, and we have the perfect workshop to add that one of a kind touch to any gathering!

Make your very own charcuterie board at Stonetown Cheese while nibbling away on a personalized charcuterie board curated with Stonetown cheeses, meats and treats. Cheese and ceramics…we can’t think of a more perfect pairing.

In this beginner friendly, 2hour workshop participants will be guided through making templates for their board shape and size and how to use textures, stamps and “paints” to add their personal touch.

Please note: pieces will be ready for pickup at Zenfire Pottery in St. Marys within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date.

About Stonetown Cheese:

Stonetown Artisan Cheese is an on-farm cheese processing plant located just 5 minutes west of St. Marys. Our cheese is hand crafted alpine style cheese made with fresh whole cow’s milk from our family farm. We give you the finest taste of the Swiss Alps right here in St. Marys! 

Ceramic Ornament or Gift Tag Workshop

$75 +tax 

Date: Tuesday, November 26

2 time slots to choose from: 2-4pm or 6-8pm

Cost: $75+ tax / person

Instructor: Teri Prince

In this beginner friendly workshop, participants will create 8-10 one of a kind ornaments and/or gift tags. Makers will have the opportunity to play with various ornament/gift tag shapes, add textures, and “paint” with various colours of slips and underglazes.  

Please note: pieces will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date. 

Private bookings for 2-hour workshops 

$75+ tax / person

Grab a group of friends, family and/or colleagues and create something beautiful. This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate with your group, or cross something off your bucket lists!
Workshop details: 
  • minimum 6 people
  • maximum 14 (special arrangements may be made for over 12 people, just ask!)
  • 2-hours includes instruction and all materials
  • 2 types of workshops include:
1) Potter’s wheel: have your “Ghost” moment, see if this is your next hobby, or simply cross it off your bucket list! Participants will create 2 bowls or cups.
2) Handbuilding: Build an object with slabs of clay, texture and coloured slips. Project examples include: mugs, beer steins, small platters, small serving bowls, citrus juicer, Christmas trees, holiday ornaments, etc.
  • All pieces will be finished and fired for you, in the colour of your choice
  • Pieces will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks of the workshop date
